Description
This is a charming English pewter flagon that holds 1 quart. It was hand hammered by Townsend in London c. 1730 – 1750. Pewter of this kind was used for eating, drinking, and celebrating on a daily basis until the 19th century. This flagon has a double dome lid and scroll thumb piece for comfort while carrying. There is a beautiful fish tail handle terminal and the straight sided body has a raised band at the handle junction.
