Description

This is a handsome Black Forest mirror with two crossing branches carved on top. The frame is cleverly carved to look like logs.
Black Forest started in the village of Brienz outside the popular city of Berne, Switzerland. Black Forest was driven by the Victorian tourist industry. The carvings became very popular and were exhibited at the 1851 ‘London Great Exhibition’.
